Sainte-Marguerite river

Sainte-Marguerite river is, geographically, one the first salmon rivers in Quebec and North Shore. At 500 km from Montreal and only 250 km from Quebec City, the Sainte-Marguerite river is very easy to travel to. The road from Tadoussac to Chicoutimi follows the river for most of the fishing area and eases the access to salmons pools. As the Saguenay is a fjord, the Saine-Marguerite river’s valley is deep and narrow and offers many beautiful landscapes on all its length.

This river is not one of the most well known but she offers a very good quality of fishing for salmons and sea trouts in both the limited rods areas and unlimited rods ones.

There are many camp grounds, fishing camps and even prospectors tent to rent all along the river but you can find very comfortable hotel and great restaurant in Tadoussac at a few kilometers from the river.

It’s a very nice river to get iniated to spey casting and spey fishing with the highly risk to hook a nice fish and to be hooked by the river yourself.

You can find all the needed information (in french) on the river’s web site : Rivière Sainte-Marguerite or on the Salmon Quebec web site.
